Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has been granted interim protection against arrest by the Madras High Court until April 17 in connection with FIRs filed against him for his alleged remarks against the Maharashtra deputy chief minister. The court directed the petitioner to approach the appropriate court and verified proof of serving notice to Mumbai police. Kamra, a resident of Villupuram, cited hostility and fears of arrest in Maharashtra as reasons for seeking anticipatory bail in the Madras High Court.
