The Indian Navy has awarded Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited a project sanction order under Make-I category for the design and development of a 6MW Medium Speed Marine Diesel Engine, with over 50% indigenous content, at a cost of Rs 270 crore. This initiative, aimed at achieving self-reliance in marine engine development, will strengthen indigenous capabilities and reduce dependency on foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The project, funded 70% by the Government of India, will contribute to the development of the defense industrial ecosystem in the country, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to promote Aatmanirbharta in defense technologies.

BSF jawan critically injured in a bid to thwart an infiltration bid by Bangladeshi intruders
In West Bengal's Nadia district, a BSF jawan was seriously injured while stopping Bangladeshi intruders from crossing the border. The infiltration attempt was thwarted by BSF personnel at the Indo-Bangladesh International Border under the South Bengal Frontier. Despite being attacked by armed infiltrators, the jawans successfully defended the border, with the injured jawan receiving medical treatment and being in stable condition. Full Article
