Naxal-affected districts came down from 12 to 6, says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Naxal issue now exists in only six districts, down from 12, as the Modi government works towards a ‘Sashakt, Surakshit and Samriddh Bharat’ by March 31, 2026. Shah emphasized the government’s aggressive stance on Naxalism and its commitment to comprehensive development. The Union home ministry has classified affected districts into ‘most-affected’ and ‘districts of concern’, reflecting the ongoing efforts to eradicate left-wing extremism.
