Defence Ministry signs contract for Wet Leasing of KC-135 mid-air refueller aircraft

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract with Metrea Management for the Wet Leasing of a Flight Refuelling Aircraft (FRA) to provide air-to-air refuelling training to pilots of IAF and Indian Navy, with the KC135 Aircraft to be provided within six months. Additionally, two contracts with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) were signed for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH), enhancing the combat capability of the Armed Forces with an overall indigenous content of over 65%. These contracts, along with others signed in 2024-25, have a total value exceeding Rs 2,09,050 crore, showcasing the Ministry’s commitment to domestic industry and job creation.
