India is set to host a two-day conclave of the 10-nation ASEAN grouping and its dialogue partners, focusing on developing a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism and extremism. The experts working group (EWG) on counter-terrorism under the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) mechanism will also discuss the evolving regional security scenario. Co-chaired by India and Malaysia, the meeting will include delegations from ASEAN members, dialogue partners, Timor Leste, and the ASEAN Secretariat, with India leading the EWG for the first time.
