China maintains defence spending increase at 7.2%

China has announced a 7.2% increase in defense spending, maintaining steady growth amidst economic challenges and geopolitical tensions. The total budget has more than doubled since 2013 under President Xi Jinping, making China the world’s second-largest military spender.
