The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested three men for leaking sensitive details about Indian naval bases to Pakistan-based intelligence operatives. The arrests were made with the assistance of local police in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district and Kerala’s Kochi. The accused were identified as Vethan Laxman Tandel, Akshay Ravi Naik, and Abhilash P. A. They were in direct contact with Pakistan Intelligence Operatives via social media platforms and received monthly payments in exchange for sharing information about naval operations at Karwar and Kochi. Investigators suspect the accused fell victim to a honey-trap operation, where a woman agent befriended them on Facebook and extracted classified information.
