India and Italy have pledged to enhance cooperation in combating terrorism by effectively countering the misuse of technology for terrorist activities. At a meeting of the India-Italy Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime in Rome, the two countries discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in dealing with terrorism, addressing emerging threats, sharing experiences in prevention, and stressing the importance of prosecuting those responsible for terrorist acts. They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in multilateral fora such as the UN, GCTF, and FATF.
