The operation to retrieve Shaul’s remains was carried out by the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security agency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the recovery of the body before a ceasefire took effect, and the soldier’s family was informed once his remains were officially identified.
