17 Naxalites gunned down by security forces in Chhattisgarh

The security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district killed 17 Naxalites in an encounter, as part of efforts to eradicate Naxalism by March 2026, according to Union home minister Amit Shah. Last year, 287 Naxalites were killed, 1,000 arrested, and 837 surrendered in Chhattisgarh, with 31 Naxalites killed in separate encounters this month.
