Outgoing US envoy to Japan, Ambassador Rahm Emanuel, has criticized American defense companies for prioritizing share buybacks over delivering weapons to the US military and its allies. He warned that delays in weapons shipments could harm US security and weaken American alliances. Emanuel stated that the US defense industry poses a bigger risk to America’s security than China. He expressed frustration over the impact of these delays on US military operations and the need to cover for the industry’s failures.
