The environment ministry’s expert panel has approved the establishment of a Formation Ammunition Storage Facility (FASF) in Eastern Ladakh, including at Hanle and Photi La, to enhance ammunition storage off the Sino-China border. The National Board of Wildlife, chaired by Environment minister Bhupender Yadav, also approved proposals to strengthen security presence at Lukung and Durbuk areas. These strategic initiatives aim to ensure adequate storage and supervision of ammunition, enabling faster deployment of units in case of need.
