India, Maldives to hold high-level defence talks on Wednesday

Maldivian Defence Minister Mohammed Ghassan Maumoon will visit India for three days to strengthen bilateral ties with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The meeting will focus on reviewing various aspects of defence cooperation, including training, exercises, and equipment supply, to enhance the capabilities of the Maldives National Defence Forces. This visit comes after India withdrew its military personnel from the Maldives in response to a demand by the pro-China president Mohamed Muizzu.
