In Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, Maoists detonated a 70 kg improvised explosive device, killing nine people, including eight DRG jawans and a civilian driver, in one of the biggest attacks on security forces in the state in two years. The incident occurred a day after security forces killed five Maoists in a counter-operation, with the DRG personnel involved in an anti-Maoist mission in the border areas of Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Bijapur districts.
