Fencing work along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur has accelerated to address the issue of illegal immigration from Myanmar, with the Border Roads Organisation initiating the construction in the Moreh area under ‘Project Sewak’. Currently, only 10 km of the 398 km border in Manipur is fenced, part of India’s ₹31,000 crore project to secure the 1,643 km Indo-Myanmar border.
