Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges Trudeau to boost funding for Ukrainian arms production, strengthen sanctions on Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to increase funding for Ukrainian weapons production and explore localised arms manufacturing ahead of Canada’s G7 presidency. Zelenskyy also discussed strengthening sanctions against Russia and thanked Canada for providing defence assistance, including the NASAMS system. He emphasized the importance of coordination with allies for Ukraine’s security and peace.
