The National Cadet Corps (NCC) concluded its Special Sailing Expedition from Kanpur to Kolkata, covering 1,650 km along the Ganges, as part of Republic Day Celebrations 2025. Major General Vivek Tyagi flagged in the expedition, involving over 400 cadets from 17 Directorates, aiming to showcase the cultural and ecological importance of Indian rivers through social initiatives and interactions with local communities. The cadets sailed in DK Whalers and undertook activities like coastal cleaning, anti-pollution campaigns, and tree plantation drives to promote youth empowerment and nation-building.
