India and the UK have signed a framework agreement to co-design and co-produce electric propulsion systems for futuristic warships, enhancing cooperation in the strategic domain. The Statement of Intent (SoI) was inked by the defence ministries of both countries, aiming to collaborate on the development of electric propulsion capability for future naval ships, with plans for full electric propulsion systems in landing platform docks. Joint Secretary Rajeev Prakash from India and Rear Admiral Steve McCarthy from the UK signed the agreement following a visit by British Minister for Indo-Pacific Catherine West.
