Indian Larsen and Toubro and Navantia showcased the integration of an Air Independent Propulsion system on a Spanish Navy submarine, part of a Rs 70,000 crore deal for six new submarines for the Indian Navy. Navantia offers a third-generation AIP system meeting Indian Navy’s requirements, competing with Mazagaon Dockyards Limited and ThyssenKrupp for the contract, with the Navy having conducted trials and submitted evaluation reports to the Defence Ministry for final approval.

CCS clears Rs 20,000 crore Make in India projects for Su-30 fighter jets, 100 K-9 howitzers
The Cabinet Committee on Security approved two major projects worth around Rs 20,000 crore for 12 Su-30 MKI fighter jets and 100 K-9 Vajra Self-propelled howitzers for the Indian Air Force and Indian Army respectively. The Su-30 MKI jets will be manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore, while Larsen and Toubro will produce the howitzers with increased indigenous content.
