China, Pakistan to hold joint anti-terror drills amid escalating attacks on Chinese working on CPEC projects

China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will conduct joint anti-terrorism exercises with Pakistan to combat militant attacks on Chinese nationals working on CPEC projects. The exercises, named “Warrior-VIII,” will involve troops from the Western Theatre Command focusing on counter-terrorism operations. China is reportedly urging Pakistan to allow its forces to provide security for Chinese personnel in the $70 billion CPEC, amidst increasing attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
