India has gifted two water-jet propelled Fast Interceptor Craft to Mozambique to enhance maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region. The vessels were transshipped by INS Gharial, with a ceremony attended by Indian and Mozambican officials. These craft have a top speed of 45 knots and will aid Mozambique in combating maritime terrorism and insurgency. The Indian Navy has been actively supporting maritime security efforts in the region, providing assistance during natural disasters and crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
