Global arms major Sig Sauer ties up with Nibe group, to make firearms in India

American arms maker Sig Sauer has secured a contract to supply 145,000 assault rifles to the Indian Army and will manufacture a portion of these firearms in India in partnership with Pune-based Nibe Group. Sig Sauer’s CEO, Ron Cohen, announced plans to manufacture a complete product in India by 2025, including an additional order for 73,000 Sig 716 assault rifles to be delivered throughout 2025, in collaboration with Ganesh Nibe and the Nibe Group, to meet the substantial product demand projected for the next 5 to 10 years.
