Rajesh Kumar Singh takes over as defence secretary

Rajesh Kumar Singh, a senior bureaucrat from the Kerala cadre, assumed charge as defence secretary at the South Block. Before taking office, he paid respects at the National War Memorial and previously held key positions in various ministries. Singh succeeded Giridhar Aramane, who retired as defence secretary.
