About 5,000 jawans and sub-officers of the CRPF have been promoted this month in a special drive to boost morale, including personnel in various ranks and roles. The promotions were conducted following a directive to shun old practices and hold DPC meetings for non-gazetted personnel from next year, with a comprehensive list prepared and promotion orders issued before the new system starts in 2025. This initiative aims to uplift the spirits of troops engaged in challenging tasks in anti-Naxal, counter-terrorist, and anti-insurgency operations, with the CRPF being the largest CAPF in the country with a significant deployment in operational duties.
