The US House of Representatives China committee has requested Nvidia to clarify how Chinese company DeepSeek acquired export-controlled chips for its AI application, which is deemed a national security threat. The committee’s report claims that DeepSeek, using Nvidia technology, poses a serious risk by potentially enabling surveillance and data harvesting linked to the Chinese Communist Party. Nvidia defended its compliance with export regulations and stated that its sales data may misrepresent its actual shipments, particularly concerning revenue reported from Singapore, while China’s embassy dismissed the committee’s allegations as baseless.
